MAHC Network Webinar: Updating Pool Codes at the Local Level
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC) is a voluntary guidance document based on science and best practices that can help local and state authorities and the aquatics sector make swimming and other water activities healthier and safer. In early 2020, the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), supported by CDC, launched the Aquatic Health and Safety Pilot Program to assist local health departments in reviewing, revising, and strengthen aquatic facilities’ codes using the MAHC. During this webinar, the two selected program participants, City of Kansas City, Missouri Health Department, MO; and Cuyahoga County Board of Health, OH, will share their experience and lessons learned while reviewing their local pool codes and identifying gaps and areas of improvement using the MAHC.
