CDC’s MAHC Network Webinar: Healthy and Safe Swimming Week Showcase: Ensuring Aquatic Health in Your Community
Swimming is a fun, healthy way to stay physically active and spend quality time with family and friends. CDC’s Healthy and Safe Swimming Week (HSSW) highlights the roles that swimmers, parents, aquatics and beach staff, residential pool owners, and public health officials play in preventing disease outbreaks, drowning, and pool chemical injuries. This year’s HSSW is May 24-30.

Samaria Aluko will highlight CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report that outlines outbreaks in the United States associated with treated recreational water that occurred during 2015–2019.

Dewey Case will showcase CMAHC’s State Designee Committee (SDC). The SDC is a forum to discuss lessons learned and best practices for safe swimming at the State level. The SDC convenes regularly to discuss public health perspectives and input regarding the CDC's Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC).
